Beast is the collaboration of arresting vocalist Beatrice Bonifassi and electro composer/drummer Jean-Phi Gonclaves, a duo that sprang out of an attraction of opposites - her lilting vocals against his fuzzy electro. Betty Bonifassi is well known for her singing and songwriting skills, having sung on an Oscar winning soundtrack in 2004 and both sung and composed for Champion's Chill 'Em All album. The electro-jazz of Jean-Phi Gonclaves is her current stomping ground, and Bonifassi's textured voice sit in stunning contrast to his grimy production. With a self-titled debut to their name after two years of experimentation, they are now bringing their unique music to the Dour site this summer.
