Bong-ra is Jason Köhnen's electronic alter ego, which first took shape in 1996. Hailing from The Netherlands, Bong-ra started as a DJ, before quickly focussing on producing his own music. In 1998, Djax Records signed him, subsequently releasing the debut album 'New Millennium Dreadz' and the 12-inch series 'Darkbreaks' Volumes 1 and 2. After success from a session for John Peel, Bong-ra went on to run regular Breakcore nights in Europe and in 2003 released a second album 'Bikini Bandits, Kill! Kill! Kill!' on Supertracks Records. Bong-ra debuted his main side project The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz in 2006 before appearing at a memorable Glastonbury Festival in 2007. A pioneer and essential fixture in the jungle scene, Bong-ra is returning to the stage this year with a full-length release on Ad Noiseam expected soon.
