Los Campesinos! formed at Cardiff University in 2006, quickly signing to Wichita and releasing their first album, Hold On Now, Youngster... in 2008, a blend of post-rock with thick arrangements and multiple layers of vocals, largely due to there being seven of them in the band. This album was hastily followed by We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed later the same year and in February 2010 they released their third album Romance Is Boring. With clever turns of phrase, storytelling and a sense for theatrical, emotive backings, Los Campesinos! are at the front of the new indie-rock movement, sweeping the crowd up in their grandiose, intricate songs.
