Moon Duo is the collaboration of Eric "Ripley" Johnson, otherwise guitarist and vocalist for rock group Wooden Shjips, and Senae Yamada. Together they produce, fuzzy, psychadelic rock songs, a mix of early nineties shoegawe, and 80s krautrock. Their 2010 album, Escape, is, as the title suggests, a transcendent record, full of hypnotic riffs and otherwordly melodies. The project has dominated Johnson's output this year, and this mini LP follows two other EPs of an equally high calibre. This is a show for lovers of stoner rock, grunge and indie of the very best sort.
