Hailing from Norway, Serena Maresh first came to the wider world's attention with their 2005 self-titled album, lauded by influential tastemakers Pitchfork and Drowned In Sound. The group's frontman and driving force Emil Nikolaisen takes the shoegaze and grunge elements of My Bloody Valentine, The Velvet Underground and The Dandy Warhols as a starting point and twists them into dark, psychedelic workouts. Serena Mareesh's current 2010 record is entitled S-M 2: Abyss In B Minor.
