Dit is: Ambiance! Franse Ska! Globale Folk! Internationale Rock! Gitane dance-hall punksters, dus. Zoals destijds ook al The Clash, Mano Negra, The Skatalites... En momenteel vooral Gogol Bordello! Babylon Circus ontstond mid jaren 90 in Lyon, staat zeker met een man of tien op het podium, en duizenden gaan ondertussen in de zaal uit de bol. Dat gebeurt uitgebreid in Frankrijk, maar hier ook al even intens op Cactus of Dour, of in Duitsland, Rusland, Ierland, Syrië, Australië... De zesde cd, La belle étoile/ is er ondertussen (bij Rough Trade). En eindelijk ook een helemaal mooie en charmante cd, maar met nog altijd die belofte van live onontkoombare ambiance met ballen. Of zoals ze zelf luidkeels scanderen: Dances Of Resistances!
